Ribbons were initially a response to some found fishing twine.

It was immediately apparent that the shape closely resembled vine tendrils or the curls of wrapping ribbon, or types of beach algae.

And there are many more associations, and that is the beauty of these shapes – everyone can bring their own interpretation to the work.

They are wonderful to make: forming a reverse turn on the flat is very satisfying.
