Size 7 1/3
Width 3mm, weight 12.5g
This ring started as 13 grams of pure silver which I melted into a button of silver. After some initial hammering to shape into a thick round disc I drilled a 2mm hole through the centre.
Then I hammered the silver into shape with a copper-headed hammer, using punches and a ring mandrel as the hole increased in size.
To finish I gently hammered the sides of the ring and sanded just the edges of the hole to remove any roughness.
So, a ring made with just a hammer.
